Time for Change!
If you’re looking to make a change this year, there’s hope! As Christians, that hope lies in the goodness of God. To move forward and improve — to get out of the same old frustrating routines — there needs to be change (Exodus 8:1-4). We can let go of resentment, past hurts, frustrations and fears, and instead embrace the future He has for us when we live how He calls us to live. But isn’t it easier to stay the same instead of taking steps to make lasting changes? However, when our hearts are hard, we can’t hear the leading of the Holy Spirit (Exodus 8:8; 8:15). And if we don’t make the change, we’ll pay for it out of our stubbornness. Our Father doesn’t want that for us. God never intends for us to stay the same, and the change He wants for us identity-based, not based on only results (Matthew 4:1-3; 4:5-6). True change comes out of how we see ourselves and who God says we are (Luke 3:7-14). When you’re finally tired of doing it your way and ready to try it God’s way, you know it’s time for a change.
Points To Ponder
1) Am I ready to make a change? What kind of change do I want to make?
2) Who do I want to become this year?
3) What is one habit I can implement that will help me become the person God wants me to be this year?
