Heart of a Champion

Sunday, August 01, 2021

The kingdom of God needs more champions, who have Christ-centered confidence, that no matter what they face, choose to live for His glory. Life is full of fires that burn slowly or flare out of control, and it's hard to develop the heart of a champion in the midst of daily struggles (Galatians 5:7-20Daniel 1:6-20). That's why we need to decide early on what is going to control us. Things of this world compete with the things of God, and our response to the events of life are the most telling (Daniel 3:16-18). Choose beforehand what and who you will follow. Because what you choose to chase will control you (Psalm 37:4). Our human nature wants to be in control, but God is looking for a heart that’s willing to surrender (Proverbs 16:9). A heart of humility always wins (Philippians 3:7-8). When we choose to surrender, God shows up and uses our lives as a testimony to others (Daniel 3:25Habakkuk 3:17-18).

Points To Ponder
1) How can I have a heart for God in the middle of what I'm struggling with?
2) What will I allow to control me?
3) What area of my life needs to be surrendered to the Lord?
