Dear God... On Your Mark, Get Set

Sunday, April 25, 2021

God encourages us to live by faith rather than fear, even in the face of what's going on in the world and what's to come (Revelation 13:11-18). To help us navigate through what life has in store for us — like the end times, for example — when we read God's Word, we must always look at the context (Revelation 1:9-10). No matter what we live through and what pressures come down on us, God still gives us hope and wants to draw us closer to Him. Revelation is all about revealing His victory over the enemy. If we have proclaimed that Jesus is our Lord and Savior, we are covered by His grace (1 John 4:2-4Revelation 19:20). We're living in unprecedented times, and we must remain vigilant (2 Timothy 3:1-5). But don't lose hope because Revelation reveals that we are fighting a battle that we cannot lose, and that Christ's list shines brightest when Christians shine their lights together. As Christians, we must train our eyes to see the evidence of God's presence in this world, not His absence. When we do, we'll see that He is everywhere, surrounding us in love. This is why we can live without fear.

Points To Ponder
1) In the midst of what I'm facing, am I currently living by faith or fear?
2) What hope does God promise to me as His child?
3) What other believers are surrounding me in my walk?
