Dear God...Do All Dogs go to Heaven?

Sunday, April 18, 2021

Heaven is more than what we were taught to believe; it’s more than just a reward, and an accurate view of heaven helps us to live with eternity in mind. Heaven is an actual place (John 14:2-3). The Bible says that we are going to rest well in heaven (Revelation 14:13), as well as have satisfying and fulfilling work (Revelation 22:3). In heaven there are no divisions, no animosity. We will get to worship God as one people (Revelation 7:9-10). We will get to eat and celebrate (Matthew 8:11Revelation 19:9Isaiah 25:6). There’s no doubt that heaven is a place of enjoyment. The most overwhelming feeling, though, is that we will finally be at home in heaven (Isaiah 65:172 Peter 3:13Revelation 21:1-5Revelation 22:1-5). Heaven helps us have perspective during the things we’re going through, and perseverance in times of temptation (Hebrews 4:16). It’s being in God’s presence and the goodness it brings.

Points To Ponder
1) What does my idea of heaven look like? How does that compare to what the Bible says?
2) What does it mean for me as a Christian to be a citizen of heaven?
3) Am I storing up treasures in heaven or here on Earth?
