Back to Trusting God
Trusting God is a critical part of the life of a believer, and we grow in trusting God through prayer (Proverbs 3:5-6). This means that unless our hearts are changed, we will never make an impact on the world (Psalm 139:23-24). God desires to change our hearts, and He does that when we read His Word (Mark 7:21; Romans 12:2). We also can’t say we believe in Jesus and the Bible and not trust God through prayer (John 8:31-32). He loves us, and when we place our trust in Him, He will help us overcome. In this way, every challenge is an opportunity for God to show His faithfulness and love. If we train ourselves to look beyond what we can see to what God sees, we can choose trust instead of fear (Isaiah 65:24). This shows that we win spiritual victories in our minds (2 Chronicles 7:14). It’s easy to see things through a negative lens; but God wants us to change our perfection and turn our eyes to Him instead, to remember His past faithfulness.
1) Is there a hardship I’m going through right now? Am I trusting God in the process? How can I trust Him in the midst of what I’m going through?
2) How has God proven faithful to me in the past? How can that encourage me now in what I’m going through?
3) What is my prayer life like? How can I make it more of a priority to talk to God more?
