Jesus is always inviting us beyond the shore and into deeper waters, where greater treasures, lasting transformation and the miracles of God await. Shallow water may feel safe, but it quickly grows stagnant, and shallow spirituality weakens the church’s witness to the world. Even with church attendance, volunteering and scriptural knowledge, we can still remain on the surface. True growth happens only when we allow Jesus into the hidden places of our lives, where obedience opens the door to His power (Luke 5:2-7). Though stepping into deep waters requires trust, it is in those very moments of faith that God meets us and reveals His presence (Matthew 14:22-33). One way to take this step is by joining a growth group, where encouragement and accountability help us move forward. As we journey deeper, we’re reminded that God exists (Hebrews 11:6), cares for us (1 Peter 5:7), and makes all things possible (Matthew 19:26).
