Easter Service
We often believe the lie which tells that if we’re broken, we’re useless or lacking in value. But that’s not how Christ sees us. The beauty of the gospel, and this season of Easter, is that it shows us that no matter how broken we are, Jesus makes broken things beautiful (Mark 9:31-32; Matthew 28:5-6; John 11:25-26). There are times when we might feel too tired to try, hope or believe; we think our best years are behind us, and that our pasts define us. But instead of sitting in the memories of our pasts — many riddled with hurt, pain, depression, regret and shame — Jesus brings life to those areas we thought long dead and useless (Isaiah 61:1-3; Ezekiel 36:33-35). Jesus, and only Jesus brings beauty out of our brokenness, dead things to life, and our desolation to Eden. The journey from graves to gardens often takes longer than we’d like, as God removes sins and works on our hearts (1 Corinthians 15:56-57). The process is messy and painful, but rest assured that He is at work shaping and forming each of us like a Master Craftsman. May we submit to the work God is doing in each of us through the resurrection power of Jesus!
